Know your music

Without doubt, my love for music is undeniable. For the past several years, I have widen my perception on the diverse musical culture. Many people listens to song because it is melodious, while i appreciate the lyrics and thoughts that goes into writing them.
Well, i will include some quotes from these all time favourite of mine.
Ok, i mainly listen to Rock, Rap, and Jazz. I simply cannot appreciate classical music. I would like to share my interest with you guys. Good things are meant to be shared, right?
On the top of list..... i am sure millions would agree with me.... U2. They are undeniably the best rock group in the world!
second on my list would be the late Tupac Amaru Shakur. Many people would have the impression
that generally rappers are associated with gangsterism, violent, revenge, drugs.... Tupac wrote all the songs himself. He had gone through difficult moment when he was a child. Her mother was a member of Black Panther. Do you guys know that Tupac was borne while the mother was still in jail?
Most of his lyrics are about racism, violence, the hardship that he experienced while growing up.
i became such a hard core fan that i got all of albums, including compilations of the best of Tupac.

Ok.. third from my list would be Alice in Chains. They are a group that embraces alternative rock, particularly grunge. Their lyrics mostly are angst filled. I think those who live under hardcore difficulties would be able to relate to their lyrics. What makes them stand out among other alternative rock groups is their social, personal, drugs abuse issues that was expressed in the lyrics of the songs.
In 2002, the lead singer Layne Staley was found dead at home. His body was surrounded with drugs and paraphernalia.
The forth group that i love is Rage Against the Machine. This Los Angeles base group is also an alternative Rock group that incorporate Rap, alternative rock, funk and rock. The are one of the most aggressive celebrity who aren't afraid to voice their un satisfactions against their government policy.
The last on the list is is a classical Indian pandit( a title that honors a person's in depth knowledge on various field, and this case... music
He is one of the most respected and gifted musician in the indian classical music arena.
He plays a Bansuri, (a flute that is made from bamboo. ) Since he isn't a singer, but it makes no difference. It has this incredible soothing effect.Yeap, non other than Hariprasad Chaurasia.
The first time i heard him play, immediately i feel in love with it. His melody assails into your ears, and it sensitizes our 5 senses. It has got a very calm, and soothing effect.

There you go. The list of my top 5 favourite artist.

"I have climbed highest mountain
I have run through the fields
Only to be with you"
I have run
I have crawled
I have scaled these city walls
These city walls
Only to be with you

I have spoke with the tongue of angels
I have held the hand of a devil
It was warm in the night
I was cold as a stone

I believe in the kingdom come
Then all the colors will bleed into one
Bleed into one
Well yes I'm still running

--Bono--
Have you come here for forgiveness?
Have you come to raise the dead?
Have you come here to play Jesus?
To the lepers in your head

the title name is One
--Bono

And the battle's just begun
There's many lost but tell me who has won
The trench is dug within our hearts
And mothers, children, brothers, sisters torn apart

--Tupac --

How many brothas fell victim to tha streetz
Rest in peace young nigga, there's a Heaven for a 'G'
be a lie, If I told ya that I never thought of death
my niggas, we tha last ones left
but life goes on.....

- Tupac Shakur--

I shall not fear no man but God
Though I walk through the valley of death
I shed so many tears (if I should die before I wake)
Please God walk with me (grab a nigga and take me to Heaven)

Lord, I suffered through the years (God) and shed so many tears..
God, I lost so many peers, and shed so many tears

--Tupac--

Okey, i admit that Alice in chains' songs are filled with bitterness and angst. If you have depression, i wouldn't recommend you to listen to the song. Well, i enjoy listening to the lyrics and appreciate their songs better. I realized how much devotion and their capability to express their feeling through songs is just beautiful.
U2 has a different approach towards their music. Very good melody, but even better lyrics, which is so well and beautifully written.

Failed to resuscitate...

As a medical practitioner who has been rotated to different departments while serving the government for 4 years, the longest posting that i did was in Emergency and Trauma. Over there, i've seen all kind of cases, ranging from normal cough and cold to accident (trauma) with multiple fractures, accident victims, etc..
Upon completing the duration of my service, the very next day i wrote a letter to the hospital administration body that i am quitting..... with immediate effect.
2 days later, i was already in Brisbane doing my cosmetic training.
So, the moment i started this clinic, i knew i would have to stay on guard for emergency cases.
What can i do since its a GP and Cosmetic clinic.
So i was sitting in my consultation room, surfing the net, when suddenly a very distressed middle age lady came in crying and wanted a see a Dr fast. She told me one of her family member, 60 year old man who collapsed after coming out from the bathroom.
I wasn't sure how long since it happened. As soon as i arrived, and went straight to the third floor where the man was laying. The moment i entered the room, my first instinct was this man is already dead. His face was cyanosed , wasn't breathing, and no pulse.
I carried along GTN(glyceryl trinitrate, and a few aspirin with me, since i though he was HAVING a heart attack.
I quickly evaluate the man, his pupils are fixed and dilated- which is NOT A GOOD SIGN.
All i could do was CPR( honestly speaking, this man might have not been breathing for about 10 minutes when 3 minutes could comatosed a patient, if he survive.
I was alone doing CPR and urge the family to call the ambulance.
I am sure most of you guys know what is CPR, right. Chest compressing and mouth to mouth.
Anyway, for hygeine purposes, I asked for a magazine and rolled it up and insert into his mouth, then blow my breath into him.
about 20 minutes later of continuing CPR, the ambulance people arrived. I expected them to bring along some IV drip set, adrenaline and atropine with them. But they were hesitant to use it.
So, the MA(medical assistant) called up his doctor and mentioned the patient's condition.
When the doctor refuse to accept the patient, i spoke to her personally. Her rationale was that patient who was asystole( no cardiac activity) and attempted resuscitation for more than 20 minutes but still not responsive, the patient is as good as dead. She mentioned that if this patient goes to Sungai Buluh hospital, she will send the body straight to the mortuary!!! ..... what the hell?
there were about 13-15 family members who stood there, and kept on calling him, i felt pretty bad, since i already knew this man would not able to make it.
By the time they decide to send him to a private hospital, the nearest would be Damansara Specialist Centre. Though the ambulance personnel are from Government hospital, they are kind enough to break the rule and helped to send him. While in the ambulance, I was still doing CPR the whole way non stop.. it was about 45-50 minutes since the patient collapsed.
Personally, i believe its only proper to listen to the family members pleas to send him to a hospital. They wouldn't have accepted the fact that the man died without an active intervention.
My shoulder and back are sore from the non stop chest compression.
The moment we arrived in Damansara Hospital, he was immediately taken to the resuscitation area.
I spoke to a few family members and i thought its only fair, or the least i can do is to be honest when informing the prognosis. Even if he manage to survive, we would have been in coma and bedridden.
I left my clinic for 2 1/2 hours, and my nurse informed me that there were several patients who came and walked out when knowing the Dr is not around.
The victim's brother was kind enough to drive me back to my clinic. On the way, we did some chit chatting. Apparently this man has got an irregular heart beat, arrhythmia... and wasn't compliant to his medication.
I was exhausted when i reached the clinic.
At around 8.30pm, the lady who came to my clinic earlier came back to inform me that the patient had passed away and asked if there any charges for my help, its only fair to charge if the patient managed to be saved. So, i refused to accept payment from her.
Another reason why i would want to send him to a hospital besides the fact that they are well equipped and at least an active intervention was done before pronouncing his death. Pronouncing death on the scene would probably wouldn't be accepted by members of the family.
Secondly, if somebody died in their own home, they would have to call the police to take the deceased for a post mortem.
I can't say that to the already distressed family as it would add to their already emotional state.
So, the lessons are,
1, Do not be ignorant when comes to health.
2. Go to your doctor to perform a full body checkup annually. Do not hesitate or procrastinate.
3. I've got to know that this man was a super hardworking business man who just recently decided to go slow in his career in business, and enjoy the fruit of his hardwork.
4. Life is unpredictable. There is nothing permanent in life.Live life to the fullest. Do whatever that you've been contemplating to do. Spend more quality time with family.

Well, i am sympathetic and wish the family members my deepest condolence. Without the necessary monitors, medicine, IV lines..(ops.. sorry, i have that), its impossible to resuscitate a heart that has stopped beating. I have tried my very best with whatever i have.

Cervical Cancer Vaccination

note: this post on revolutionary discovery and the product are not influenced by any means by the company that produces the product. The content of this post is based on the knowledge of the author and statistics are attained by Medical Publications.
This blog was initially intended for medical related topics. However, after a while, gradually the post became more personal. How would you classify my blog? Its up to you. Whether its personal, cosmetic, medical, poetry.
As a doctor, i feel the need to share with the masses about something totally revolutionary in the field of medicine. In the past, TB killed millions of people throughout Europe. People diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis is as good as dead as there wasn't any treatment or vaccination available.
Today with modern science and technology, we have fought back many of these diseases and had prevailed with the discovery of new drugs, early prophylactic vaccinations, social awareness.
Very often these killer diseases are preventable by means of healthy lifestyle. Unfortunately our gene dictates the probability of developing certain diseases despite leading our life the best we could. For years, there is a battle between Heart Disease and Cancer for the number one spot as a killer disease.
For women, breast cancer has been the number one killer for years, followed closely by cervical cancer. Today, technology and science has reduced the death mortality statistics drastically by the discovery of the first ever cancer vaccine. As for today, there are 2 major medical companies that produce this life saving vaccines. They are widely used throughout the globe. Before continuing, i would like to state some facts about cervical cancer.
Fact 1: Cervical cancer is the 2nd most common cancer affecting Malaysian women, after breast cancer.
Fact 2:In 2002, cervical cancer accounted for 12.9% of all female cancer in Malaysia.
Fact 3:Virtually every women is at risk of cervical cancer, regardless of their age or lifestyle.
Q: What is cervical cancer?
a: The cervix is the neck of the womb(uterus). It connects the body of the uterus to the vagina(birth canal) . Cancer occurs when the cells of the cervix become abnormal and grow out of control. The cancer can spread to other parts of the body.

Q: What is HPV(human papillomavirus)
a: Human papilloma virus(HPV) is a family of more than 100 viruses that is very common. Some types of HPV are associated with certain types of cancer. These are called "high-risk) cancer causing HPVs.
Q:What is the relation between HPV and Cervical Cancer?
a: Most HPV infections occur without any symptoms and will go away without any treatment over the course of a few months
Infection by the "high-risk" (cancer causing) HPV is necessary for the development of cervical cancer. These infections are asymptomatic and majority will resolve without any need for treatment.
However, in some cases, the infection can persist, leading to the risk of progression to cervical cancer. This process can take more than ten years.
Therefore it is important to be protected against the "high-risk" HPVs
Q:How is HPV transmitted?
a: HPV is a common virus that is transmitted through genital skin to skin contact so it can affect virtually any women, regardless of her ahe or lifestyle. Sexual intercourse is not necessary to become infected.
It is estimated that about four out of five sexually active women will have an HPV infection during their lifetime, even if they've only had one or two sexual partners.

Q: Will I still be at risk of HPV infection if I am already married?
a: The risk of HPV starts from the first sexual encounter and lasts throughout a women's life. It is estimated that up to 80% of women will acquire a genital HPV infection in their lifetime irrespective of their age or lifestyle.
Q: Do condoms reduce the risk of HPV infection?
a: Condoms reduce the risk but are not fully protective.
Throughout her life every women is at risk from the virus that causes cervical cancer.
Q: What is Pap Smear?
a: A Pap smear is a quick and simple test to find abnormal cells at the surface of the cervix. Usually cells are collected from the cervix and sent to a laboratory where they are tested for changes
A Pap smear kit set
Q: Can Cervical Cancer be prevented?
a: Until recently the only way to prevent cervical cancer was regular Pap smear testing to look for early signs of the disease.
Vaccination is now available to prevent HPV infection and cervical cancer.

Since the first introduction of HPV vaccine in Malaysia, less than 1% women has been vaccinated. This could either be due to cost and public awareness on importance and availability of vaccine.

Currently, there are two brands of Cervical Cancer Vaccination available, they are Gardasil, produced by Merck & Co., and Cervarix by GlaxoSmithKline.

As mentioned earlier, the choice of product in this post is not influenced by company that produce them. This post is not intended to be an advertisement, but rather an attempt to create public awareness and a better understanding regarding availability of these life saving vaccines towards the public.
Cervarix by Gsk. Ask your doctor today regarding Cervical Cancer Vaccination.
A complete vaccination has a similar timing as vaccination for Hepatitis B, which would be
1st dose : 0 month
2nd dose: 1 month later
3rd dose: 5 month after the 2nd dose.
However, what sets this particular brand apart from other vaccines is its flexibility. Studies shows that even the timing between 1st and 2nd dose is prolonged to 54 weeks, blood serology indicates a persistent high degree of immunity, hence it would be convenient for individuals who is pregnant and had received the 1st dose before conception. 2nd dose can be administered after delivery of baby. However there is no studies to establish safety during lactation.
The price for each dose has been reduced drastically, from 450RM-RM500 per dose to 200RM-250RM. The decision to reduce the price by the producers to encourage more women to get vaccinated by increasing its affordability. According to Department of statistics of Malaysia, a total of 7,500000(58%) women are exposed to the risk of cervical cancer.(age between 10-45 years)
To ensure your beneficent insist on checking the expire date of the vaccine.
Each box of vaccine comes with a pre filled syringe o.5ml of vaccine.
As an advice to women, get vaccinated before contributing to part of mortality statistics, as cervical cancer today has become a preventable disease.

The Beautiful You

We place great emphasis on a narrow idea of physical beauty.
In an American history discussion group, the professor was trying to
explain how, throughout history, the concept of "beauty" changes with
time. "For example," he said, "take the 1921 Miss America. She stood
five-foot-one inch tall, weighed 108 pounds and sported a 30-inch
bust, a 25-inch waist and 32-inch hips. How do you think she'd do in
today's version of the contest?"
The class fell silent for a moment. Then one student piped up, "Not
very well."
"Why is that?" asked the professor.
"For one thing," the student pointed out, "she'd be way too old."

Good point -- she'd be way too old. But beauty is a peculiar thing,
for it means something a little different to each of us. And it isn't
always about appearance. Sometimes beauty is a quality that softly
shines from inner depths. And you may actually radiate more inner
beauty
than you realize.

An elderly woman noticed that her granddaughter felt embarrassed by
her freckles. "I love your freckles," she said, kneeling beside the
girl and admiring her face.

"Not me," the child replied.

"Well, when I was a little girl I always wanted freckles," the
grandmother said, tracing her finger across the child's cheek.
"Freckles are beautiful."
The girl looked up. "Really?"
"Of course," said her grandmother. "Why just name one thing that's
prettier than freckles."
The little girl peered into the old woman's smiling face, aglow with
kindness and love. "Wrinkles," she answered softly.
The physical beauty of youth will fade. But the beauty of a spirit,
when nurtured, can grow forever.

-- Steve Goodier

I received this mail from a friend who sends out on a daily basis important and significant quotes throughout the world. And this particular topic about "Beauty" caught my attention.
We tend to take things for granted. We don't appreciate our life and family that the Mighty Lord granted us. We don't see the significance of simplicity of things. At times, those simple gesture like saying hi to somebody, couple holding hands, elderly couple who look after one another, nature, sunrise and sunset, the smell of your partner's pillow, playing with our children, these little peccadilloes are the good stuff in life. This is all part of life, and life is what you make of it. Being a doctor for over 9 years, i've seen so many death to the extent that i got use to it. That i am immune to it. Compare to the first time seeing a patient died with their family wailing cries hits me hard, At times i would shed tears looking at them, why, because what they are experiencing now WILL happen to us in future. I burning desire to be the best doctor that i can ever be stems from the first dramatic death of a middle age man, leaving behind his wife and 4 young children. This man was just 42 years old. He still have to much ahead in life, Seeing his 4 children grow up and being successful and happy in life. Holding your wife's aging wrinkled hands while you stared into her eys with joy and devotion, knowing that she is a gift from heaven to you.
This victim never got the chance to experience all of that.
And when i was posted to the Pediatrics ward, the patient which i was assigned to happened to be a 4 year old boy with Thallessemia Major whom needs monthly blood transfusion to sustained him. I looked at the poor father with his exhausted look, but manage to smile at us. The child's name was Apoorova. The father had to pay for each pint of blood transfusion. And being a private medical hospital, that would be costly for any average Indian family. After clerking his case and presented to my professor, i approached the father and asked him if he needs any form of assistance, whether its financial or anything. He politely refused. He doesn't want the sickness of his child have an effect on us student, but little did he realized that his son has mine from the beginning.
Since that day, I started regularly donate blood to this particular child so that my blood would be replaced with the ones he needed. And all these while, i told the nurses not to tell the father who is the donor. This went one for 4 years. 3 monthly blood donation without fail, until one day, 4 years later, the nurse asked me to which patient am i donating to, "Apoorova".. the nurses looked at me, recognized me as a regular. They told me he passed away about 2 weeks ago.
My heart stopped for a while, it was a while before reality sets in. Every month, the father accompanies the child and stood by his bedside every month. This is an example of an undying love of a father to his son.
That is life. He was such a cheerful looking boy each time i visit him. Since his passing, i took every cases assigned under me with care and love.
However , the pace at KL shuts off all humanly senses and you started doing things as a routine, with no feelings.
I had a near death experience myself, but i felt its too personal to talk about it in public.

In life, while being alive,
appreciate all beings beauty and unsightly
for they are all creation of our Lord Almighty
Kiss and hug your wife and childreen hundred of times daily
for nobody knows what the future may be
Unfortunate ones separates from their loves one
while the living goes on life as a routine

Never treat life as a routine
Even small little things makes our life worth living
From the day we are born till the day we blow our last breathe
Always see others for their beauty within
Physical beauty will fade one day, but inner beauty if nurtured
it continues to grow indefinately.

Lets not waste a single hour, a minute, a second longer,
For life is unpredictable and no one lives forever
Cherish the beauty in everybody
Once you are able to see the beauty in everyone else
You achieved the inner beauty yourself.

Another weekend with the Wans

Ahhhh... Another weekend that i've been waiting for every week. We would normally plan out our Sundays days ahead so we'll fully utilized the time. I slept pretty late yesterday, watching Hancock, starring Will Smith. I was watching the movie using a headphone in full blast but fell asleep. The next morning i woke up around 10am, headphones still clinging to my head, but my wife had switched off the TV as the flashes of lights kept her and the baby awake. It was a little too late for a family morning walk and a much anticipated mamak breakfast, but hey, it is not a matter of where we do, as long as we do it together as a family. So with much enthusiasm Isabelle asked me ,"So, daddy.... i am all ready now. Where are we going today??"
"Well, its a surprise! You'll know once we reach there,ok"...."But Daddy, you have to tell me now, I can't wait to know!"
She kept on asking me where we'll be heading.
We got her buckled to the children seat, then place Natalie to the baby's chair, strapped, place her stroller at the boot of the car. Started the engine when everyone is in the car. Then i set the GPS to....
Zoo Negara!!!! We are going to the National Zoo Belle! Are you excited? "Yeah daddy. I want to see all the animals there." I remembered taking Isabelle to the zoo for the very first time when she was about 1 1/2 years old. Obviously she can't remember anything about it. One the way there, we stopped at McDonalds to have our lunch, as for me, a good cup of black coffee.
Half an hour later, we reached our destination.
It was super crowded. We reached there around 11am. Should have arrived earlier. Now the price for tickets for adults is RM15, and children age 3years-11 years is RM6. Its free for Natalie. My wife mistakenly read the board stating visitors need to pay extra RM 15 for bringing in camera! What nonsense. I was very determined to photograph some wild animals and my children to make this trip memorable, and i have to pay RM15 for that? My wife suggested why not we smuggle it in? You want to smuggle a DSLR into the zoo? A compact camera maybe possible, but not a DSLR.
I went to the counter and read the notice, apparently the RM15 is applicable to Video cameras, not photo cameras. Thank God.
While mummy purchase the tickets, i took some shots of my daughters.
"Isabelle, you are not looking at daddy!!"
Well, mum came back with the tickets, and soon we were on our in. Isabelle can't hide her excitement to see live animals.. During the entire time, she would ask me, where are going to see? when are we going to see the tigers and lions? I want to see elephant, daddy!!! Ok.. lets walk.
The last time we came here was about 4 years ago, and to be frank, nothing much had changed, except that they have new shuttle buggies to carry the passengers. But we decide to walk instead.
First impression the moment we walked in..."This place is huge, and i really doubt we are able to cover the entire place today"
The first animal that we encounter got Isabelle pretty excited. It was the giraffe and the elephants placed side by side.
Despite their size, their movements are so gentle. The aren't afraid to approach the crowds as we were given the opportunity to feed them.
I couldn't help but to take several photos of this gentle giants. The look on their eyes with long lashes, are absolutely gentle and beautiful.
Next to the elephants were the giraffe. Standing tall with slow graceful movements.
I zoomed in to catch the expression of these animals. I believe all creatures has something to tell from the look on their expressive faces. As i had mentioned earlier, i am trying to take photos of my children and also the animals in an artistic manner. My lens cap was off all the time, i set the settings for the shots after considering the brightness of day, all i have to do is to look for a sight, zoom in, focus, and shoot..
I stood there for 10 minutes, and i saw this couple staring at the group of giraffe intently. Ah,ha.
What are you looking at, the animals, or the butts.??
The waiting pays off when i caught this incredibly rare shot that would probably be shown in National Geographic Magazine if i submit this next shot!
A Giraffe pissing!!!! Hahahaha........
Ok, now to take shots of my children....
If these 2 photos aren't enough, they wanted to feed the animals! My wife bought some bananas being sold there for the purpose of feeding the animals.
"Mummy, i want to feed the elephant!!"
Isabelle wasn't nervous when the elephant approached her and reaching out for the banana held in Isabelle's hand with its trunk.
"Some more... Some more... " Obviously Isabelle got excited feeding the elephant.
I took the chance to snap a photo of the elephant. I saw beauty and grace despite its size. That's why some people called elephants gentle giants.
There you go! " Hey feed the giraffe too!" I told them.... Now its mummy's turn!
Pei Ling stood close to the railing and stretched her arm out to offer the banana to the giraffe. One approached.....SNAP!
Yucks!!!! Their tongue are extremely long and whenever it wraps around the banana, the saliva touches your hand... Can't see how long the tongue is?
How about this photo!!!
Alright enough feeding.. Lets move on. There are a lot more to see..
Isabelle couldn't contain her excite she started running to see the next display.... "Daddy! daddy! come and see....Giant chickens!!!" What giant chickens? Then i saw this.....
"They are not chicken Belle".."then what is it, daddy?" Its an Emu.They are the largest bird in Australia and the second largest in the world. They can't fly.
As one of the lifted the head up, i didn't have time to adjust the camera, I just zoomed and took a picture of the face of the bird.
Huuaahhh...Kinda reminded me of Jurassic Park. ,,UGLY!!!!
"Where are we going next ,daddy?!.." "Want to see lions and tigers????" "Yes daddy, please!!!"
I really can't blame her for her enthusiasm as the only Tigers and Lions that she sees are on books and pictures. Lets go then. while approaching the lions territory, we expected some growling, but no... it was total silence. Then upon reaching there, we found out why.
The pair of Lion and lioness are sound asleep! What the heck! We traveled all the way and my daughter wanted to see you so much and this is all you're going to show us???? I was disappointed. "What happened, Daddy? Why are the lions so quiet?" Sorry dear, they are taking a nap. Lets see the next exhibit, the Bengal Tigers, perhaps more actions there, yah?" "Ok, daddy!"
What the hell, where is the tiger????? No where to be found? Then i looked closely and found it to be asleep as well....
This Tiger us a real beauty. Too bad Isabelle was unable to see it. "Why are all the tigers sleeping at this time, daddy?" Because it;s their nappy time. Come dear, lets see the tiger from another angle...We walked around the confined area to get a better look at the tiger. Isabelle saw it was so happy for seeing a live tiger. Then i thought to myself, children are the purest of God's creation, they get happy over small things. They are inquisitive. Innocent. Perhaps God want us adults to exhibit some child like qualities.. Maybe.
"Look daddy, we can see the Tiger a lot clearer here...But why is the tiger still sitting around?"
Perhaps the tigers are tired too. Maybe we see other exhibits first, then come back later hoping for more actions, okay?
We walked to the next exhibit, and this time we saw a restless leopard moving back and forth.
"Daddy look, a leapord! Daddy, a Leapord can eat people one or not?"
Of course they can...
I wanted to get close up photo of this beauty but its moving erratically and too fast, making it hard for me to focus. It makes it a lot tougher when i zoom onto the face, and while he moves, it difficult to get a short.
Ahhh....the cats taking a break now. Didn't zoom into the face as this leopard's behaviour is unpredictable. To be safe, i resort in shooting a half body.
Right after this shot, i could hear the deep growl of a tiger. Ah,ha... and i noticed people are approaching the Tiger area. I told Isabelle to follow me. My gut feeling tells me that i 'm going to get some goot shots.
I was right! The Tiger is awake and roaming arond.
Should had zoomed in,yeah.....
Tiger approaching my direction.....
What a beauty. Just keep your distance and not to provoke these cats.
Isabelle's jaw was kept open, fascinated with the first time seeing a real tiger.
Walking away towards the water to take a dip perhaps.......
Yup, just as i expected....
Swam in front of us towards the other end of the pond, got up and continue to laze around.
"What did the Tiger do, daddy? "Tiger is feeling warm and takng a dip into the water to cool himself.... "Daddy, is that a girl tiger or a boy tiger?"...Ehhh.... i can't tell from here. Its too far see."See what daddy?"...i just kept quiet and walked away holding Isabelle's hand.
Lets see what's the next animal....."Hey Isabelle, dears!!" "Daddy where? Oh there! They are so cute!!"
"Daddy, when we have a big house, i want to have dears as my pets,ok daddy?" huh! ok....
According to Malay folk tales, the deer(sang kancil) is the smartest animal in the animal Kingdom.
Isabelle can't resist touching one of them, but for hygenic purposes, we didn;t allow her. Well you can take a picture with the deer...
Opps... should have adjusted the aperture to the smallest to have a sharp picture at the background.
Then we walked into this section called the Savvanah Walk.Nothing much, Giraffe, some camel, ox, and rhinocerous.
"Daddy, that's a dinosaur!" No Belle, its a rhino.... She kept on insisting that it was a dinosaur.
By now, non of us can walk anymore. Our legs sored, we were hungry and thirsty. We sat down on a bench and took a 10 minutes break.
Even Natalie looks tired and sleepy already.
After the break, we just felt like heading home already, but since we came a long way here, might as well see as much as possible. "Oh, Isabelle...daddy will take you to see the Orang Utan"
"Ok, daddy!"
"What are they eating ,daddy?" Banana!! They are so hairy!
"daddy, i can't walk anymore.... i need to be carried....i want to go home daddy!"
"Ok, there one animal that you would want to see, but first, lets have something to drink at the restaurant first,ok?
We walked to a Wall's Restaurant, where they serve ice cream, ice blended coffee, and some sad looking fried noodles.
Isabelle wanted a Magnum, and i shared a Cream and Chocolate Coffee...
Isabelle ate the ice cream like theres no tomorrow. I had to take a picture of her..... "Isabelle , look here!!!!...
Ok, wash and wipe your mouth clean Belle. We are going to see the last animal before leaving.
"what animal, daddy?" With a deep grouchy voice i said, "THE CROCODILES"
"Yeay! crocodile!!!!" While walking towards the reptilian section, we passed by this group of exotic looking flamingos,
In about 10 minutes, we reached the crocodile farm.....
Isabelle was pretty observant.. she asked me silently,"daddy, why the crocodile not moving and the mouth kept on open one?" Well, these crocodile are smart creatures. They kept their mouth open and stay motionless so that other animal who comes close wouldn't think that's a predator. And when the poor animal comes to close, the crocodile will suddenly rush to grab the animal. The crocodile is setting a trap.
"But daddy, why would the crocodile want to set a trap when they are fed by the zoo people?"
Well, i am stumped at that question, so i simply answered, well, it's their inborn animal instinct.
The zoo keeper kept on throwing fresh meat towards the crocodiles mouths, but missed a few times.
Notice those flesh on the floor?
For a while, these two crocs actually hissed at each other for the food as most of the meat are on the left crocodile, while the left croc is trying to grab a piece.
As you can clearly see the darker crocodile is much larger than the other one. So, i would assume he is the Tai KO here.
As promised, that would be the last animal to see as the kids are getting tired and irritable, and so am I.. We left the zoo, and as a memorabalia who took this shot
Both my kids never stop making funny faces.
Next stop, IKANO!!!
It took us about 45 minutes to get to IKANO from the zoo as there was quite a jam around that area, plus the drizzling doesn't help a bit.
The moment we entered the carpark of IKANO, we realized a huge crowd was already there judging from the amount of car which packed the parking lots. We managed to find a spot eventually.
There were a lot of people especially at the 1st floor near Sony Centre. We went closer to check out what the fuss is all about.
Harvey Norman was having a last day discount for all of it's electronics. Printers, plasma TVs, Refrigerators, ...so that's the reason why IKANO is so jammed packed today.
My wife and I had discussed about buying a plasma TV quite a while ago, and today seemed like a great day to do just that!
LG plasma 42inch are selling for only 3999RM and they accept instalment payment. What a deal.... Wow.... Gotta get a grip of myself now!\
A 32 Inch plasma TV for 2499RM!!!!!!Arrrgghhh,,,i could feel my will power being drifted away!
They have a variety of brands on discounted price! ARRRGHHH!!!! I must be in heaven!!!!!
It must be predestined that i decided to come here of all places. Well, actually my wife wanted to do some shopping in Cold Storage.
But instead, our attention were diverted by the super lower priced electronics, when we are supposed to shop for baby food.
So, instead of buying pumpkin, vegetables, sweet potatos, we started to inquire about the price of a laser printer.
Again, Isabelle complained that her leg hurts and that she needs a stroller. But in fact, she wanted the stroller that looks like a car to play around with.
Gleefully smiling away after getting what she wants.
"Hey daddy, don't forget to get ma food,alright...."
While checking out the vegetables, i came across the meat section where they sell hams, sausages, salami,etc....
My mouth started watering just by looking at these meat.
I ordered a chicken pepper pastrami
And a chicken salami
And they taste fabuloso! Now i have something for my midnight snacks.
Right after shopping, we were too lazy to go elsewhere for dinner. Thought of somewhere convenient and fast for dinner, and so it happens to be Sushi King.
Sushi King has been a special place for me personally. While in India, i became a vegetarian on my own which lasted 8 years. It was my wife who converted me back to meat eating by taking me to Sushi King. Coincidentally, it happens to be Isabelle;s favourite place for food too.
I am not sure what this is called but its rice wrapped around with seaweed with a piece of prawn in between.
California Roll is a must have each time i visit Sushi King. I guess this was the one that converted me.
This is Isabelle's favourite. Egg wrapped with rice and seaweed. Mind you, she has already eaten half of the entire amount. When i took this photo, she didn't care to look at the camera as she stuffed herself silly with these.
This would be our photographic evident showing Isabelle in the Seventh Heaven, didn't care about the world around her as she eats her favourite dish.
I asked for the bill after dinner half and hour later. The bill came up to RM76.94!!
We continued our window shopping right after dinner. Pei Ling has always complained that our internet connection is slow. We are currently subscribed to TM Net which provided us nothing but empty promises. That is why i am writing this blog down at 5.15am, knowing no one would be flooding the server at this ungodly hour.
We've been considering switching to other internet provider for quite sometime now. The latest being P1 Wimax which is extensively advertised in the area where i live.
We approached the counter but there isn't anyone available to entertain us, so we just simply grab the brochure and left the counter.
Since today is the last day for many electronics sold at super discounted price, we were really tempted to get a brand new laser printer to replace out 4 in 1 brothers printer. We were quite interested with the laser printer, but was still half minded as our Brother 4 in 1 printer served us quite well, but the ink cartridge needs changing quite often. I was ok with the price offered by Minolta Konica laser printer at RM299.
But due to sentimental value of our current printer, I hesitated and told Pei Ling that we'kk purchase after really sit down and consider the need to purchase a laser printer.
Next item that we've always wanted is a plasma TV.As we all know plasma TV;s price has dropped quite drastically these days, but nevertheless it still cost thousands. It isn't exactly the same as buying a piece of cake you know.
After checking around the variety of features that comes with different brands, the more we looked, the more confused we got. Eventually, we decided to do a little research on plasma TV on the net before purchasing one.
Time is already 7.49pm. Time to go back. Everyone is tired now. Isabelle is hald asleep. We left for home then.
Well, that;s how we spent our weekend.
