Marvin Gaye's what's going on!

Which the numbers of video posted in my blog, most of you would be able to tell that i am a fan of Marvin Gaye. In case if you have not figured why i love his song and its significance so much, i've posted the lyrics along with the videos again.
This will be one of my last post before my long absence for three months. Hope you'll enjoy the lyrics as well as the song.

Mother, mother
There's too many of you crying
Brother, brother, brother
There's far too many of you dying
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today - Ya

Father, father
We don't need to escalate
You see, war is not the answer
For only love can conquer hate
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today

Picket lines and picket signs
Don't punish me with brutality
Talk to me, so you can see
Oh, what's going on
What's going on
Ya, what's going on
Ah, what's going on

In the mean time
Right on, baby
Right on
Right on

Father, father, everybody thinks we're wrong
Oh, but who are they to judge us
Simply because our hair is long
Oh, you know we've got to find a way
To bring some understanding here today
Oh

Picket lines and picket signs
Don't punish me with brutality
Talk to me
So you can see
What's going on
Ya, what's going on
Tell me what's going on
I'll tell you what's going on - Uh
Right on baby
Right on baby

Some funny, unfortunate, unforgetable experience in Uni and working life!

Being in University for five years (no, i didn't fail my exam and repeated my semester. It's the duration of the course) and working with the government for nearly 5 years, i had experienced first hand some funny, some sad, but all unforgettable experiences. It all happened since my first year in my uni days...
(warning!!! due to the nature of my job, some of these experiences may be deemed inappropriate for certain people!)

1st year-Anatomy dissection class where we were sitting around a cadaver, one female student kept on staring at the penis!...with a smirk on her face!!
- on a lecture on the knee joint, our prof made an inappropriate synonyms of the joint,"As you all notice, the knee joint moves in a single direction, forward and backward, much like a man and a woman.....WTH!!!!!

2nd year- during the first post mortem(all students are required to witness 10) a girl fainted and fell forward, landed herself on the dead body!
- Forensic medicine lecture, when we were had a lecture on sexual deviation, our prof asked the guys... all guys masturbate...(ok!!!!....why must he say that!), and asked the girls... who masturbate? Obviously no one lifted their hand, except for one American girl..(huuahh... very bold to admit)... then there was a moment of silent, then the prof raised his voice,"The rest of are all liar!!!( yes, till the end of the course..most of them denied what the prof said. But the question remains....WHO is telling the truth?)-most guys would like to believe the prof!!

- Same prof mentioned about gays..on how to identify them..."Well, if you examine the practicing active partner, he would have a curved penis, and the receiving partner will have epithelial thickening and a loose anal sphincter at time you are able to SEE THE BEATING HEART from the anus!!!

-Our dean who was also a physiology lecturer, once halfway giving lecture, suddenly stopped and asked a chinese student why was he grinning for no reason.."You! Stand up! Why are you showing your 32?(32 teeth)... I'll make you stand with one leg for the rest of the lecture, then we'll see if that's funny!"
- On one of our medical lecture, she asked the students,"How many types of shock are there?"
"Septic shock, hypovolemic shock, cardiac shock, neurogenic shock..." unexpectedly, someone from the back benchers shouted,"Electric shock!"
-due to increasing incidence of break in, every student who goes in and out of the hostel were required to register their name in a log book placed at the entrance of the hostel.... I looked at it, and some character wrote,"Batman,Spider man,Superman!"
-during clinical years- we were required to practice our clinical skills on real patients, and the routine medical examination includes, history taking, observation, palpation, auscultation. Our entire batch of over 150 students were split into batches of 15, and each day, 2 students take their turns to examine and present the case to the lecturer.
It was a turn where two female students were assigned to a patient with elephantiasis, and was asked to examine the penis...
After a thorough history taking, they put on their gloves and politely asked the patient to drop his pants! Observation...."ok, write this down.. penis is centrally place but slight tilt to the right, regular size(how would they know!!!???) no swelling seen.....yes, no swelling until when it comes to palpation. I didn't know what they did, but patient developed an erection!!!,"ok, now generalized swelling is seen.... suddenly, a friend of mine suddenly ran out from the ward(while the rest of us were waiting in another room) and burst out,"The patient EJACULATED!!!"
Innocently, the two girls, have no idea what it was..(yeah, right!!!) wrote and question each other,"ok... write this down.. sudden white discharge from penis.. How come there is discharge in filiriasis? Its not written in the text book, yarr!!??" WTH!!!
- while working as an intern in surgical posting, we had a case of Thyrotoxicosis(swelling of the thyroid gland) and the head of department ordered a junior intern..."chart down hourly PR.."(pulse rate)... i swear, that dude reported during the evening rounds,"Sir, 10' o'clock, anus and rectum is normal, 11 o'clock, anus and rectum normal, 12 o'clock reatal and....... hey! What did you do???? Our prof asked... His jaw nearly dropped to the floor when the intern answered, "Sir, you ordered for hourly per rectal(PR) examination, no???"... i still crack up thinking about it today..
What a life in Uni i had!!!

Better Days

Better Days

It's been a decade since the first day i tasted it
Hopeful that one day i'll do well without it
Tried stopping such destructive addiction
Ended in seizure that nearly ended my life

Each day i pray for better days
Not knowing the reason it started to begin with
Blame it on sleepless nights feeding my brain with facts
struggle to get a degree enabling me to save lives

hundreds lives i've managed to save
except for one, which i have failed
struggling hard for better days
like the rose that grew from the concrete it'd find its way

Freeing myself from it is a battle
so hard to beat the devil that conquered my life
pray hard to God to lead me towards the light
stand by me to face the devil with all my might

Blessed with the greatest gift in life
the loveliest daughters and a supporting wife
what more could i ask for
when i live in heaven on earth even before my demise

I am down on bended knees thanking God
with my hands clasped i praise the Lord
for giving me golden wings to soar the sky
Better days is at present i realized

Most Soulful Singer

As far as i could remember, my in depth interest in music begun when i was a child, listening to both my sisters practicing daily on the piano(ironically i don't show any interest then). The range of music evolved as time goes by. I remember vividly enjoying myself listening "Top of the Pops" back since 1981, songs like Billie Jean, Uptown Girls, Let's dance, All night long, etc..Back then, my interest was purely to the tune, unlike at present where lyrics and the message the song conveys. Not surprising, U2, Tupac Shakur, Rage against the machine, Alice in Chains, and many other artist who's songs are lyrically significant, emphasizing on socioeconomic ills the world is facing today.
However from time to time, its nice to just enjoy timeless music so soulful that it transcends over time, even after the death of the artist, the music lives on. One of my favorite would be Marvin Gaye, considered my many the most popular singer back in the sixties, who has influenced music and created a genre of its own. His songs is the very definition of soul and love, which is the total opposite compared to the life he had lived.
Though his life is filled with achievements and recognitions, towards the end of his life was ruined with drug addiction and ended tragically from a gunshot by his own father.
My favorite song from his landmark album released in 1971, "What's going on" presented a full view of America's social ills, including war, police brutality, racism, drug addiction, environmentalism, and social decay.
He was ranked by Rolling Stone magazine at number 6 as the greatest singer of all time. His music influenced popular artist of today such as Stevie Wonder, Micheal Jackson, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Prince, R. Kelly, Janet Jackson, and many more.
I hope you'll enjoy the music as much as i did.

I miss my DSLR!

It has been nearly a week now since I've sent my DSLR camera for repair. Sony called me yesterday to inform me of the cost it will take to repair it. (the pictures taken were tilted slightly from where i focused). I was literally in distress when i first detected the problem. I was low in morale, depressed, and literally stressed out when i sent it over to Sony service centre for repair. First question that popped in my head was the cost for repair. I checked the site where i registered my camera with Sony and it says that my camera was still within the warranty period. I changed the lens and took photos with them, ALL TILTED!!! Arggh!!!! Since the day i bought the camera more than a year ago, i have never parted with it for more than a day! SERIOUSLY!
While listening to my problems, the Sony personnel checked the system and told me something i wasn't prepare to accept...that my warranty period is over!!! I was like, WHAT??!
But i checked the Sony website and it says that it was still within warranty! She insisted that the warranty has expired!
Sony lady : Sir, you need to pay a deposit of RM20 for the repair. Me : Why? Its still under warranty. Sony lady : No sir, it's not Me : Yes it is!! Sony lady : No its not sir. Me : Hey lady! It still is,lah. Go fly kites, lah you!

(of course the conversation wasn't like that! Me? Talk like that? No way, jose! I ain't that crude....thought i wish i dare to..)

Yesterday i received a sms informing it cost RM447 for the repair. "should we proceed with the repair?"
What the he**? I already spent thousand on the camera and lenses, and just because of RM447, what? They expect to leave it aside and get a new camera?

Oh, my baby!!!!When will you come back to daddy!!!??

Malaysian Deceived!

As i was in the clinic to start a brand new week, i received 2 very disturbing news. Called it disgusting, deceitful, or whatever you want, but again, i feel truth need to be told as its our basic rights to know what is happening within our society and the Government in a democratic country like Malaysia should always remind themselves that it is the rakyat who gave them the power and leadership to run the country. However, its disappointing to know MPs, Ministers whom are entrusted by the rakyat are hiding facts from the public.
2 little birds told me about unreported death case due to H1&! by various Government Hospital around the country, and it seemed that this decision not to report these cases came from the highest level of authority.
It all started with the limited funds allotted on public health care. Apparently by now, the Ministry has spent beyond the budget, hence they had to control the dispensing of antiviral drugs to patients and primary suspects. Initially, family members of confirmed cases are given the same drug but to be taken differently as a prophylactic dose, but today, the policy had changed.
Only those who are confirmed to have the disease are given the medication, and the rest of the family irrespective of age and health condition would only be given the antiviral only when they develop the symptoms.
What angers me the most is the fact that the original Tamiflu which was wholly bought initially by our government, has already expired, but was given the thumbs up as "still within workable period" for another 3 years.
This really stinks and no matter how you try to hide the facts, someone, will know about it. Its just a matter of time before the current Governmen( gets ousted for undermining the public with your deceitful ways.
I agree with certain people that the Health Minister and DG should just step down. If you can't do your job, people's life are lost.

Misconception of H1N1

With mortality due to H1N1 increasing exponentially, i feel that society in general should be aware of the characteristics of this virus.Till today, this Pandemic as claimed over 1500 lives globally and 70 in Malaysia alone.
Compare to other countries, Malaysia ranks within one of the highest death rates amongst patients infected with H1N1 virus. I do not claim to be an expert in the field of virology or epidemiology, but there are certain facts which i felt society should be made aware of in view of the seriousness of this strain of virus.
Fact is, misinformation and misconception is among the reason for the high rate of mortality and morbidity of this pandemic.
I might get into trouble for writing this but i felt the truth should be told. Lets examine the time line and observe how government policy and decision making among health authorities has affected the course of this Pandemic in our country.
Since June of 2009, WHO declared H1N1 as a Pandemic. What is a pandemic? According to WHO, a disease is termed pandemic when it meets 3 criteria:-
1. emergence of a disease new to human population
2. infects and affects humans causing serious illness
3. easily infectious and remained sustainable among humans

Just because a disease is deadly with high rate of mortality and being wide spread among human doesn't make it a pandemic, eg. cancer. The key word is Infectious.
2009 H1N1 is a new strain of virus, a genetically mutated form arises from 4 different strains of virus,North American Mexican Influenza, North American Avian influenza, human influenza, and swine Influenza. Genetic mutation of these four viral strains produce a new strain of H1N1 which humans aren't resistant to, and hence absence of pre existing vaccines to prevent its spread.
There are pharmaceutical companies that had produced vaccines in the past which prevents seasonal flu, avian flu, and human flu. People are scrambling to clinics and hospitals for vaccination with these existing vaccines, which undoubtedly profits these pharmaceutical companies, but little do people know these vaccines are actually useless in protecting against this new strain. I have heard from various medical representatives from these pharmaceutical companies claiming facts such as vaccines from the human flu would render 30% protection against H1N1 since its made up of 3 different strains. How silly. Do they know what they are talking about and would they hold accountable for these claims if death occurs among these group of people who were vaccinated with the belief that these vaccines actually renders a certain level of protection rather than no protection at all? Again, i would like to emphasize on the term misconception of vital information.
I believe there are several factors that caused the high number of death in our country. But of course these are my opinion and they may or may not be the facts.
There were no reported case in Malaysia when WHO declared this Pandemic. Persistent phone calls to 2 pharmaceutical companies that produces antiviral drugs which H1N1 is sensitive to kept on claiming out of stock. A total of 3 phone calls were made to this two companies within a period of 3 weeks, with each time their representatives kept on claiming its out of stock. I actually told them that we're facing a pandemic and they should doubling or triple their effort in producing these drugs.
Something prompt me to call the H1N1 call centre in Putrajaya. I asked them only 2 questions,
since there's no drug available, how would they treat the confirmed cases? What test would we have to do to confirm H1N1? Both the questions were answered with a tone of assertiveness. "Of course these companies are out of stock, the Government had bought all the stocks available. And to my second question, their exact words were, please don't try to treat them, refer them to government hospital.
I foresaw more problems to be forthcoming. The Government wants total control of the spread and treatment of H1N1 probably because,
1. they were confident with their facilities and staff
2. To prevent general /private hospital from overcharging the patients for the drugs.

I got several feedback from suspected H1N1 patients who was on the same plane as the first case. They claimed that several hospital staff came to their house, gave them a thermometer, and to visit the nearest Government hospital in case of fever.
With government hospitals constantly overcrowded, i do not think suspected cases who were worried and hopeful that they weren't infected would want to wait for hours before being attended to.
Its a typical Malaysian mentality to have the impression that the worst would never occur locally. What they read on death due to H1N1 only happens overseas. I was in government hospital when SARS hit. I got a double whammy when i attended an 76 year old Chinese man who came back from GuangZhao who developed fever and difficulty breathing. I examined him with minimal protection. Only a double ply mask and a pair of glove. I checked his oxygen saturation which was only 78%. I remembered immediately shifted him to resuscitation zone before being transferred to the medical ward.
What a way to start your day of work when upon arrival to the hospital, you've been told the patient you attended died the night before and post mortem was suggestive of SARS. I was caught off guard. Not wanting the same thing to occur while in private practice, i was trying to acquire the antiviral drugs, but no... the Government had to have full control of the situation. 21 August. First death. By the time the death told reached 50, it wasn't even a month since the first death case was reported. Soon, hospitals were overcrowded. However, i was happy to hear one of my patient's friend's daughter who was confirmed H1N1 was given immediate treatment and the family members were given prophylatic doses of antiviral drugs.
Soon, my confidence with the Government started to falter when my neighbour who's daughter is studying in one of the school in Jalan Davidson which was closed, and were told to stay at home(home quarantine i mean) started having fever, so the father brought the daughter to HKL. His described his encounter in HKL with anger. Apparently, they set up huge tents and fully protected with space man looking clothings, they just interview the father without checking the sick daughter. Immediately they asked her to see a GP as history was suggestive that she "was probably not H1N1".
2 days ago, a 14 year old Malay boy from Pahang developed symptoms suggestive of viral in nature. He went to the local government hospital where he was given cough syrup and some panadol without being examined. Eventhough i have antiviral drugs stocked up, he appeared lethargic and dehydrated, I suggested to the father to refer him to the hospital just in case they want to admit him judging from his condition. True enough, he was confirmed to have H1N1, and was SENT BACK HOME WITH TAMIFLU and no prophylaxis was given to the parents as the hospital staff told them that Tamiflu was too expensive to be given out. WHAT NONSENSE! As far as i'm concerned, i knew there are 2 companies that produces generic version of Tamiflu, and the hospitals ARE DISPENSING generic Tamiflu. How do i know? Because my sister was given Generic tamiflu produced from an Indian pharmaceutical company that produces generic drugs and based in Sungai Petani, Kedah. How expensive can generic drug be? I was told by a medical representative from the same company that they are lauching a new batch of Generic Tamiflu tomorrow with the presence of our Health Minister which cost RM80 for a box compared to the original one which cost most than triple the price.
By today, just 6 weeks after the first case was detected, there are reported 4200 cases and expert believe that the number is under reported and he projected the actual number of cases is 20 times of reported cases.
Private clinic offering on the spot test for influenza A virus GIVES THE WRONG IMPRESSION to society as H1N1 is not confirmed by such test. There are 3 types of virus, A, B, and C. If you are diagnosed to have influenza A, does it 100% means you have H1N1? NO!
From a reliable source, i was told that the throat swab test done to confirm H1N1 in IMR (institute medical research) only limits up to 300 test daily due to its high cost.
So, dear readers, have you learn anything new or surprise with this post? Do you feel deceived for not being informed of the truth? I certainly am feeling angry for the lack of government effort to share its responsibility with Private practitioner in the earlier phase of the disease. As Dr Donald Henderson mentioned, H1N1 has become too huge of a problem to control its spread. We do not know if we had faced the worst or has it yet to come. Only time can tell. Just pray that this pandemic isn't anything like 1918 Spanish Flu that killed 50 -100 million people within a year.

Relenza has finally Arrived !!!!

Attention Everybody
1. Since the vaccine for H1N1 is not yet made available to the public worldwide, and Government Hospital is overwhelmed with cases that they start referring cases to Private Hospital, the much anticipated antiviral medication which kills the H1N1 Virus AND doubles as a prophylaxis against Primary Suspects is available but at a limited stock.
2. Relenza which has a much safety profile compared to Tamiflu has very limited stock due to shortage of stock. Hence before prescribing the medication, customers are subjected to a thorough medical history.

3. For those who are traveling overseas, please take note that unlike Vaccine, Relenza provides prophylaxis as long as you continuously consume it.

It's 7.13am

Its now 7.13am, and i didn't get much of sleep yesterday despite the mount of sleeping sleeping tablets that i took before going to bed. I still find it hard to fall asleep in a room all alone. I miss Isabelle laying next to me watching her cartoons, I especially miss Natalie who has the knack to crawl over my tummy and lay there resting on it. Yesterday morning, my mother in law called and passed the phone to Isabelle, who asked me how am i doing. My tears starts flowing down I find it hard to mutter a single word as i know i would start sobbing the moment i responded. I nearly burst into tears when she told me that she missed me so much. Daddy missed you terribly too,Isabelle.Maybe living separately would ease my wife's mind, but each time after work, I don't look forward to coming back to an empty room where it used to filled with kid's laughter. Its hard being alone honestly.I may not sound manly, but each time i enter the empty room, tears always flow down my cheeks, tears of sadness. Only thing that managed to divert my attention is my work, where i attended a 14 month old girl who was got a sudden onset of high grade fever.I knew her prognosis was bad when i realized she has a neck stiffness and her temperature spiked to 39.5 degree Celsius. I have anticipated one of these days such emergency case would come to my clinic, thank God i prepared the emergency resuscitation room.Since i don't have valium suppository, or valium injection, i gave her IV Midazolam instead and was considering intubation her as her oxygen saturation was only in the 70%-83%.However, the gas canister was empty! What the hell!!! All I could to was tepid sponging till her temperature came down to 37 when she more alert,Immediately i called the ambulance and told them to send the child to Sunway Hospital.
....... just called Sunway Medical Centre, her condition stabilized, she was more alert and able to recognized her mother. Her diagnosis was febrile seizure secondary to URTI? Her chest was clear when i examined her! What about the stiffness of neck? What about her seizure?
I can imagine the traumatic experience and scare the mother must have gone through as I have a 11 months old child.
I bet Swami must have worked through my hands as i remembered very well being calm throughout the entire ordeal.
Thank God she is ok now.

Sunrise and sunset

Ever wonder why we exist within an era where we don't have to coexist with the Jurassic creatures that instinctively hunt and kill for you, and yes, man is also part of their wholesome meal plan. At times, itsn't better for mankind be back in the Jurassic era than now? Political assassination, holocaust, wars that witnesses thousands of killings, famine, HIV, genocide, ...come to think about it, the worst that you can describe in the history of mankind happens now, at this so called modern civilized society.
I just can't put myself into the soldiers place where you are about to pull the trigger with your rifle aiming at the head facing the wall.
Genocide by the Khmer rouge, holocaust,Rwanda, genocide on Iraq, slaughter of Armenians during world war 1,Yugoslavia war where witnessed thousand or Croatians being slaughtered by Serbs.
Dear God, why are these people born to a condemned death. Why do you make humans that can let the devil prance in their head and start their trigger happy fingers in the streets, killing by standers and innocent children.

I can't tolerate such atrocities.I just attended a child 14 months old with high grade fever who was brought in just now with an empty stare in her eyes. Her temperature was at 39.3 degree Celsius. Immediately i inserted a paracetamol suppository and brought him into the emergency section. Set up an IV line, tepid sponging, then as expected, he fitted. Since i don't have Valium Suppository or injectables, I gave her iv Midazolam 0.4ml. That stop the child from fitting as he went immediately to sleep. I checked his SO2p and it was 83%. Immediately i put her on oxygen tank, supplementing her with oxygen which she had been deprieved for a significant amount of time. I pray hard please do not let this child ended up with cerebral palsy.
For a while, we struggled to much and my adrenaline and pumping reflected my my heart rate. I was so worries for that child. God please work through my hands.
I just don't understand how can we got so worked up with a child while those soldiers are killing them senselessly?

There are several versions to this songs, the video was mind blowing!!! I actually shed tears looking at the video while listening to the lyrics.

I wish this post would make is rethink of our life and others. Just for a day, a week, a month, if we practice to life for others, the world would be such a beautiful place.
Another beautiful song that i wish to share with everyone, a song written by the late Micheal Jackson. Hope you enjoy it, and may the song would have an impact in our life in one way or another..

Performing Rhinoplasty by myself.

Since there isn't many customers today, i thought of have some fun with the cosmetic materials that i bought.
Yes, i self injected myself with anasthetics via nerve block.
This is the picture of me before the procedure

And half an hour later, i injected fillers to the bridge of the nose plus injected some into my chin for a more chiseled appearance.

Well, i can guarantee one thing, the procedure was painless!!
Well, i believe before injecting to your customers, you should try it on yourself. And so I did.

Damn! We are all going to hell with the current policy on handling H1n1

dear respected medical representatives from GSK,
Most of you may not have met me before, but for those who know me, knew me well. I am angry. I am furious at how government takes this H1N1 crises despite being classified as a pandemic. If you want to do something right, don;t act like a famous Malay saying," jangan lepaskan batuk di tangga"
Now let me tell you what happened that made me so furious!
1 month before the first case hit Malaysia, I called up Roche and GSK 3 times within a month. And the response that i got was sorry, we are out of stock! I think that has got to be the most ridiculous answer since WHO has announced this crisis to be a pandemic, and i thought to myself, shouldn't these companies be double, or perhaps triple their effort if making the stocks available. A few weeks later, i called up the call centre in Putrjaya, and inquiry from them, how would they treat the confrimed cases if Tamiflu and Relenza is out of stock?
The answer shocked me. Mereka out of stock sebab kerajaan dah beli semua stock yang ada! I was left speechless for a while, and can't help but to wonder whether these two giant pharmaceutical companies can't just be frank with me by telling the government has the stock.
Why would the Government want to control the stock? Obviously the MOH people think GPs are a bunch of leeches that takes advantage of the situation by selling these antiviral at high price? Ok, that's a valid reason. But I wonder if the governent is doing their work by containing the disease well? If that's so, then WHY are there are so many death reported so far?
I can't help it but i just had to say it out, our Director General Tan Sri Ismail Merican, should know the facts before making an ass of yourself by giving out statement that not all H1N1 cases needs to he hospitalised, only patient with preexisting pulmonary disease, like emphysema, COPD, asthma are at higher risk and needs a more vigilant monitoring.
Has he been reading the newspaper lately? Most of these people who died from this deadly virus are healthy individuals all died due to pneumonia caused by H1N1 virus, and not blaming on the preexisting pneumonia itself.
Lately, Tan Sri Ismail Merican quoated that those with preexisting lung condition like pneumonia, COPD(emphtsema and chronic bronchitis) needs more attention.
Perhaps our DG ought to know that H1N1 is the cause of the deadly pneumonia that kills its victim.
The second death case, a 46 year old man, came back from overseas, and went for a holiday with the family when he developed the symptoms of virual infection. He died of complication of pneumonia.I felt that the right diagnosis is the man passed away due to pneumonia caused by H1N1.
Then the third case of death due to H1N1, 42 year old developed symptom of cough and running nose. When his condition deteriorated, newspaper reported him to have " preexisting pneumonia and diebetis mellitus"... The media seemed to have the knack to blame the deaths dur to pneumonia, but those idiots should have written as H1N1 related pneumonia.
an obesed 20 year old died of H1N1 pneumonia. What was her preexisting condition that contributed to her death? Her obesity??
A 10 year old girl who was ill was just given treatment as an outpatient in a private clinic twice. About a week later, she developed breathing difficulties and succumbed to her disease. H1N1.
By now,you will able to see the pattern of these death vistims, Running nose and cough. Obviously no doctors would suspect it to be H1N1. Judging from the pattern here, does it mean our DG has to change policy that all patient with cough anf running nose should get a throat swab to detect the virus early, hence able to save the child.
NO....our dear DG said, not all H1N1 needs throat swab or hospitalization. Again, i emphasize, only those with preexisting lung condition will be admitted and monitored in hospital.
11th year old boy is the 6th victim, where he developed symptom of URTI then condition worsened and was admitted to the ward on 29. Was throat swab done on him on admission, sdly no. He was only confirmed to be the 6th H1N1 on the 1th august, the day he died. A 15 year old Australian girl was the 7th. 8th was a 51 year old teacher who has under;ying heart problem feel ill and seeked treatment from a GP on the 27th. She was admitted to the hosptal on the 30th when she died.
By the 8th dead, we should be able to see a pattern here. 90% of these victims seeked treatment from GP firstbefore condition turned worsed. Now, don't the Ministry of Health top dogs able to see a pattern here and a solution to prevent death? PROVIDE THESE GPS WITH THE ANTIVIRAL MEDICATION!!!.
The 9th, 10th and 11th death...well no comment.12th death is a 12 year old fromo Batu Pahat.
Why don't the government allow Private practitioner to play a role in containing and controlling the disease spread? If the Government think they are all capable to do a better job, well, the mortality and morbidity statistics shows a BOLDLY WRITTEN WORDS....FAIL To CONTAIN!
What pissed me, no pissed is not the word, the thing that put me to my boiling point was that at the end of July i received 10 units of Relenza, which regretfully I rejected because of financial problem that my clinic is facing. But 3 days later, I called up the medical representative, and he told me I will get my stock the next day. I waited till the next day, then he told me my account was blocked because of a defaulted payment. I called up Zuellig Pharma and gave a peace of my mind to him for not reminding me of the payment. It was like one day, the rep told me everything is fine, and i will be getting the stocks tomorrow, then the next day, after telling him IT WAS HIS FAULT for not informing me. He apologized and told me that the stocks will be released if i make the payment on the same day. After making the payment, he told me i should be able to receive the stock by tomorrow since its released.
I waited till the next day, still no delivery made. I called up the medical representative, and now he told me that Relenza has become a controlled item and i won't be getting my order.
When I spoke to the Zuellig Pharma person, whom told me few hours ago the stocks has been released, now told me that they have made Relenza a controlled item and the 13 units that i ordered are taken off.
When will the government realised that GP are the first person patient goes to and by early intervention, we could reduced the death toll drastically.
And for those who think government hospital staff can do a better job, you are simply ignorant.
I am disappointed at GSK for not suggesting to government that they ways simply aren't working and continue to comply to their demands. Yes, Malaysians.... we are all going to hell with brainless people making their executive decisions.
