Natalie is turning 2 this Saturday. Time passed by so fast. I could still remember vividly the moment Natalie was born. The feeling both my wife and I felt the moment we heard Natalie's first cry.
2 year had passed and with this little fella, she certainly made our lives livelier, exciting, and happy. The contrasting behaviour between Natalie and Isabelle seemed evidently with her behaviour. While her older sister is more ladylike and girlish, Natalie's "I want to do it myself" attitude make both my wife and i laugh at her at times. She is always up to something, and there are times where I got fooled by her at times. She simply grew up too fast. It felt not too long ago when we took this photo.
Photo taken on her first birthday.
This little precocious girl never fails to make both my wife and I proud with her ever surprising daily actions.
She seemed to be a fast learner. Having the ability to remember words and pictures upon seeing them only once.
Her enthusiasm and lively character never fails to bring out a smile in me, nor she ever fails to run to the door to greet me whenever I come back from work.
This year, we thought of making her birthday a little special.
Knowing her interest in singing, we thought of getting her a toy musical set from Toy 'R' Us. However, as expected her attention got diverted as soon as she saw these soft toys lying on the floor.
And her elder sister did not help to get her on track. As a matter of fact, she joined in the fun!
"Come on,Natalie. Let's get what we're here for!... She looked at both my wife and I, winked several times... and muttered a ,"OK"...
She started playing with all the toys on display. Pressing buttons, spinning, dialing..Such curiosity cannot be dampened, nor should it be.
I just can't help but to snap a pic of her meddling with the toys on display.
"Ting ting!! Twang!!!! Boink!!!!"
Press!! press!!!
Suddenly, she saw her favourite toy character, (which I hate the most) the hideous looking, overgrown, purple dinosaur, Barney!!!!
Her favourite song is "I love you". And she goes around hugging everybody while singing the song to herself.
I remembered telling my wife how "retarded"Barney looks, and yet, for reason I simply cannot fathom, children love him!
They have an array of different versions of Barney. One with the purple heart sings,"I love you" when it's pressed.
His laugh is so goofy! I know it's unfair of me to say this, but the creator of this dinosaur could have done a better job in designing the looks.....FAR BETTER!
Because of you Barney, I have to put up with listening to Barney each time Natalie eats. By today, she's got an album full of Barney DVDs.
Big sister Isabelle was enjoying herself playing with the toys as well.
Why can't any toy cost only RM9.90 like those He Man figurines back in my days as a child. Today, simple toys, that goes boink, ping ping, ting ting, ring ring... and bears the tag Fischer Price cost at least RM50++!!
It;s not that we can't afford it, but it's simply doesn't make sense!
I am not sure whether for those who is around my age, during childhood there was this eye gluing, adrenaline pumping, ever entertaining cartoon called "M.A.S.K"
(Mobile armoured Strike Kommand), where bikes transforms into helicopter, cars into planes, a truck into a command centre, and the idea of such cartoon back in those days were revolutionary.
And what happened to cartoons like The Centurions, Thundercats,The Visionaries,etc..????
What happened to all these superb timeless cartoons?
I guess toys designer today come out with "brain development orientated" toys.(which I personally thinks it dulls the curious minds of children)
While the kiddies were playing with the toys, my dad was spending quality time with Leonidas.
Leonidas seemed easily entertained. He chuckles each time one of us talks to him. He's a real cutie...
While Isabelle and Natalie took their own sweet time to play each and every toy displayed, even cute little babies has got so much patience..
Sigh... why are Che Che and Yee Cheh taking so long!????
Wait a second! What is that! isn't that the character who's face kept on falling apart???
"OOOOOOSSSOOOMMEEEEOOOOO!!!!!
What's the fun of rearranging a potato face?
Walt Disney has many ways of generating huge amount of revenue, right from cartoons to built up a cultural phenomenon, then with their characters being sold(batteries not included) and puppets and figurines, and books in the form of comics, sticker books, colouring books, etc.. On other word, they are VERY good at getting children to have their parents spending!
But daddy's got to spend on himself too! My own toys! Which i must say the older you get, the choice of toys comes with a hefty price tag. I am not going to divulge what my toys are since this particular blog is constantly being scrutinized.
I got myself a bag last weekend. Looks nice, right?
Lift up the cover which is held on to the bag with velcro, you're able to access the zipper.
What could possibly be the content of the bag?
Ta dah!!! It's a camera bag. Instead of a squarish of a rectangular shaped bag which normally carries a DSLR camera, this is rather flat and looks of a multi purpose, modern looking bag.
The zipper handle with the word Sony carved on it is inconspicuously hidden under the outer layer, so no one knows this is a DSLR bag.
Normally DSLR carriers have got the brand printed in bold where everyone who sees it knows it's a camera bag. Perhaps for this, the only giveaway.... if you can find it...
Lookie...lookie.......
would be the small tag that bears the Sony Alpha symbol.
Once an Alphanatic, always an Alphanatic.
